Let’s not play it up. The last weeks have been hectic for most people! FTX blew up and the CeFi crypto sector struggled to a certain extent. A famous quote on PoolTogether Discord has been: "Treat centralised exchanges as a public bathroom - get in, do what you gotta do and get out."
And things are getting easier! Tools like the Coinbase MPC wallet, Rainbow, Metamask, or Zerion help you get access to crypto on Layer2s with their fiat onramp features. Self-custody is finally cool again!
Amid all the confusion one thing is clear. Decentralized finance continued to work at all times. Non-custodial and immutable blockchain protocols like PoolTogether remain untouched from all recent events. That being said, let’s hop into the updates!

Liquidity Mining Rewards Live on Arrakis.finance
Good news for all POOL hodlers: you can now earn POOL rewards for providing WETH/POOL liquidity on Polygon! For the pilot program, 1000 POOL will be distributed over 30 days.
How to participate
Navigate to our vault on Arrakis.finance to add liquidity. Claim your POOL awards as they accrue. You can withdraw or add more liquidity anytime.
Please be aware of the risks of providing liquidity.
What’s Arrakis?
Arrakis is a liquidity management protocol built on top of Uniswap V3. With Arrakis, a project or individual can create a vault that allows liquidity to be managed in an automated way on a concentrated liquidity DEX (i.e., Uni V3). The “vault” is a Uniswap V3 position–an ERC-721 (NFT)–that is fractionalized and represented by ERC-20 tokens for those who deposit into the vault. This feature allows projects and users to provide liquidity through Arrakis and enjoy a user experience that mirrors that of depositing into a Uniswap V2 pool.
The Arrakis protocol is non-custodial and openly governed by the Arrakis DAO.

Optimism pool party continues 🔴✨
Thanks to the successful outcome of voting cycle 8 on Optimism token house governance, PoolTogether has received 380,000 additional $OP tokens for user rewards.
This means the $OP rewards have been extended for all PoolTogether depositors on Optimism until March 28th, 2023!
The rewards continue to accrue in real-time and are claimable every Tuesday at 7 pm UTC in the PoolTogether app.

New community UI for the Polygon POOL pool
The Polygon POOL pool now has its own URL and user interface, thanks to underthesea.
The UI is open source and allows deposits and withdraws, shows the winners of the most recent draw, a list of players, and some other general stats.

Pooler Shivansh proved his skills as educatooor in front of an audience in Chennai, India. Under the motto OPeration Education, Shivansh showcased the power of PoolTogether on Optimism in a PoolTogether 101 class. Some pictures from his presentation:

stETH.win is a PoolTogether V3 community pool by our turtle fren underthesea.
You can pool your Staked ETH tokens for weekly draws. The ETH yield is split in two ways:
50% to a good cause (currently givewell.org)
50% to two random poolers
So by depositing, you are guaranteed to win by supporting a good cause immediately!
In order to ensure fairness, there is a 1% in place that decays over the 7 days to zero. Poolers can withdraw in full without any fee after 7 days.

A Web3 Savings Card is a digital collectible connected to your PoolTogether account. It changes in real-time and visualizes your savings power in the pool. The Savings Cards are currently available on Optimism and Polygon.

pfers have landed 🦜
Long anticipated and finally here: pfers. pfers is a Pooly derivative meeting mfers and has positively infected the PoolTogether Discord server and Twitter timelines.
69% of all funds go towards Friends of Pooly and their mission to defend DeFi.
pfers is a project by David. He’s a long-time pooler, whose work includes the art for Pooly NFT and the beloved treasure chest animation.
